Drawing from live models is one of the best ways to understand the human form, but an artist doesn't always have the luxury to paint that model in their desired setting, whether it be in the Roman Colosseum or the Moon. In this class, we will combine the fun of live figure drawing and the challenge of incorporating props and other references to create exciting compositions for future masterpieces.

Chalk Pastel and Charcoal with Holly
Students will learn how to control the soft and sometimes messy nature of charcoal and chalk pastels. We will begin with learning the basics of contrast with black and white charcoal and work our way towards the entire spectrum of color and texture with chalk pastels.

Beginning Perspective with Holly
Easily one of the trickiest subjects in art, perspective is one of the most valuable techniques an artist can master. Students will learn the basics of one, two, and three point perspective using picture references and still life sets to fully understand this skill.

Colored Pencil and Graphite with Holly
Students will learn the exciting techniques the professionals use to create beautifully rendered masterpieces in colored pencils and graphite. We will start the class using graphite to help students understand the use of shading and contour lines within a composition. We will then apply these techniques to colored pencils and introduce color theory and the
layering process.
